Simon Cowell Opens Up Post Surgery After Being In A Bike Accident
Simon Cowell shared his experience and advised his fans to stay safe following his bike accident that broke his back. The 60-year-old television personality went under a six hours long surgery overnight on Aug. 8.
Reportedly, the reality TV judge broke his back at several places. Cowell took Twitter the next day of his surgery and addressed the accident following good advice to his fans. He appealed to his fans to read the manual of an electric trail bike before riding for the first time.
"I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages. And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met,” Cowell tweeted.
Sometime back Cowell's representatives informed how he fell from an electric bike during the testing in his courtyard. Cowell is currently located at Malibu and spending time with his family. Immediately when the accident occurred, the entertainment manager was rushed to the hospital and monitored by doctors.
Cowell was accompanied by his stepson Adam who is 14-year-old and son Eric who is 6-year-old while testing the latest electric scooter. However, the surgery was successful though Cowell had to go through several fusions and procedures. Doctors had to put a metal rod to fix his back.
While doctors agreed that the injury was extremely terrible, Cowell is lucky enough to get it treated. Following the incident, Cowell won't go live on America's Got Talent on Aug. 11 and 12. The show has been telecasted live while maintaining proper safety measures on the sets.
Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum who are fellow judges on the show wished Cowell for quick recovery. Klum took to Instagram to express her concern and admitted that she misses shooting without him. The 47-year-old German model called the entire incident extremely sad.
Alongside the caption, she posted an image where all the fellow judges were pointing towards his empty chair. Vergara addressed Cowell as "boss" and said how much she misses him. However, she also shared a picture in which Mandel also posed with her.
The judges ensured that Cowell's seat is open and the chair is not taken out of the frame. As per the claims, Cowell has missed the impact on his spinal cord with one centimeter. If the impact was on the spinal cord directly, then he could have ended up in-bed forever.
