Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion announced the release of their forthcoming joint single "WAP" on both artists' social media. The said single's launch would be on August 7, Friday.

As reported on Elle, Megan Thee Stallion is responsible for the No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Savage Remix," featuring Beyoncé. Now, this new single with Cardi B is going to be her second high-profile collaboration this year. She collaborated with Nicki Minaj on a song called "Hot Girl Summer," where she performed it for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards 2019.

Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, 25, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Bexar County, Texas. She started to develop her skills as a songwriter when she was younger. Her rap performances on freestyling became famous on Instagram in 2017 and finally released a full-length mixtape in 2019. Early this year, Megan released the song called "Diamonds" in collaboration with singer Normani for the soundtrack of the superhero film "Birds of Prey."

On the other hand, Cardi B has recently made headlines for her political influence during this crisis by donating $1,000 per hour to families in need through her Fashion Nova affiliation. The release of "WAP" is going to be her first significant musical noise since this quarantine.

According to Harper's Bazaar, Cardi is known and loved by her social media followers for her honest and "no filter" comments, making her one of the most entertaining A-listers of the moment. Later on, her single "Savage" went viral on TikTok when a famous TikTok subscriber used it for a dance challenge that reached up to 15.7 million views and 2.4 million likes in March.

The matter also helped boost the sales of her other single, "Suga," climbing up to No.7 on the Billboard 200. The earnings of the song went to a Houston nonprofit organization, Bread of Life, which supports disaster relief for the Coronavirus affected residents.

The chart-topping rapper used to work as an exotic dancer for a while after dropping out of college but left the "career" and shifted to becoming a social media influencer and started releasing hip-hop music in 2016. Her real name is Belcalis Almanzar, born and raised from The Bronx, NYC. She has always given credit for her upbringing for her success as a rapper. She's had songs peaked at No.1 on Billboard charts and continues to do so until now.

Come Friday, These inspirational American rappers, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, are poised to have the hit song of staying home once more.
