Hulu's 'Nine Perfect Strangers' Limited Series Joined By Regina Hall
Regina Hall is set to make an important addition to the cast of Hulu’s upcoming limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The series is expected to make its debut somewhere in 2021.
Nine Perfect Stranger will revolve around nine stressed city dwellers who share a wellness resort in a bid to receive healing and transformation. The show is set at a boutique health-and-wellness resort promising to give its guests the ideal peace of mind and body. Hall has been cast as one of the nine strangers Carmel.
Hall’s fellow castmates include Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Manny Jacinto, Tiffany Boone, Luke Evans, Melvin Gregg, Grace Van Patten, and Samara Weaving.
Kidman will play the director of the resort Masha who would even walk the earth to prove the agenda of her resort. McCarthy will also be one of the nine strangers alongside Hall. With Hall’s participation, the power-packed cast of the series has certainly got even stronger.
The 49-year-old carries plenty of experience chalking up roles of different sorts – she has starred in successful movies such as The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday, Malibu’s Most Wanted, and About Last Night among a string of other celebrated movies.
Not only the big screen but the actress has put her mettle on display for the small screen as well with shows in the form of Ally McBeal, Law & Order: Los Angeles, and of course her latest Black Monday.
Nine Perfect Strangers marks the second straight year that Hall has signed for the main role. In 2019, Hall found the main role in the comedy series Black Monday as Dawn Darcy. Although Hall has a good deal of experience working in both films and television, only recently - she has started in the mainstream television, so it’ll definitely be interesting to see what she transforms her 'stranger' role into.
Considering the essence of some of the popular resort shows, it is not wrong to predict that the show may have a lot of drama, emotions, and application of interpersonal skills. However, this is not a reality television show, therefore, a lot of unexpected bits may come about.
Fiction and resorts don't quite go hand in hand and this may be the exact reason to give Nine Perfect Strangers a shot. However, it is time that will tell how well the makers and actors execute this nice plot.
The limited series is based on the Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty’s most recent book of the same title.
