Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla Remember Meghan Markle On Her Birthday Amid Feud Rumors
The senior members of the royal family took time out of their busy schedules to greet Meghan Markle on her birthday.
Queen Elizabeth shared a photo of herself with the Duchess of Sussex during their joint engagement in Cheshire two years ago.
In the snap, the queen and Markle are looking the same direction. They both huge smiles on their faces. The photo was shared via the official Instagram account for the royal family.
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles also shared a solo photo of Markle on their official Instagram account. In the photo, Markle’s hair is tied in a bun and she has a beautiful smile on her face.
Kate Middleton and Prince William also greeted Prince Harry’s wife via their social media account. The couple uploaded a photo of Markle chatting with a young girl from one of her previous royal outings.
The royal family’s greetings for Markle came in the heels of reports that the Sussexes are still at odds with the British clan.
Following their decision to quit the royal family, rumors swirled that Prince Harry and Markle upset the queen. A royal expert previously claimed that the queen and Prince Charles were blindsided by the royal couple’s decision to quit The Firm.
But in the book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed that it wasn’t Prince Harry and Markle’s intention to blindside Her Majesty.
In fact, Prince Harry and Markle scheduled a meeting with the queen on January 6. However, they were told that the meeting was postponed to January 29.
The decision to push the meeting back didn’t sit well with the Sussexes because they felt that the queen didn’t want to speak to them. As such, they decided to announce their Megxit even before they managed to talk to the queen and Prince Charles.
According to New Idea, the queen purposely delayed her meeting with the Sussexes because she was hoping that Markle would return to Canada to be with her son, Archie. This way, Prince Harry will stay back in London for a few days and he and the queen would get to talk privately.
Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, and Middleton were also, allegedly, blindsided by Prince Harry and Markle. But the Cambridges are the ones that are still, reportedly, at odds with the Sussexes.
