On July 27 (Monday), the South Korean femme fetal has finally unveiled their much-awaited studio album debut date. The Blackpink queens are set to take the global music scene on October 2 under the management of YG Entertainment/Interscope Records.
And the K-pop idols do not settle for less because alongside their forthcoming album's announcement is the reveal of their second lead track's featuring artist set to be released next month, August. When that happens, the track comes after their record-breaking single release titled 'How You Like That,' Billboard finds.
The BLINKS went nutty as a fruitcake when YG Entertainment's official Twitter account posted the announcement with a teaser poster entitled 'The Album' revealing a launching date of October 2, NME wrote, referencing to YG Entertainment's tweet.

The female group's forthcoming album's first single, 'How You Like That,' broke numerous records. The track garnered over 100 million streams in less than thirty days and even dethroned fellow K-pop idols BTS from their reign as Youtube's most viewed video in 24-hours. The record was newly set by Blackpink when their 'How You Like That' music video surged in 86.3 million views in just one day. The video also sets Youtube's record for the most prominent video premier holding a 1.66 million concurrent viewers.
The new record set by Blackpink (Rose, Jeanie, Jisoo, and Lisa) was formerly owned by BTS for their 'Boy With Luv' track that features American singer Halsey. BTS' music video finishes at 74.6 million views after 24 hours in April of last year. Due to Youtube's domination in the music industry, the ranking of a 24-hour viewing period became the bragging rights and promotion to all artists across the globe.
Furthermore, Blackpink also was hailed as the most followed all-girl group on Spotify and the highest number of subscribers on Youtube. The record dismisses the English band One Direction, according to the Guinness World of Records' released figures.
More of Blackpink
YG Entertainment formed Blackpink in 2016; the agency is also responsible for K-pop's most promising bands like Big Bang and 2NE1. The quartet became the first Korean artist to grace Coachella's stage during one of their massive festivals in 2019.
This year, the K-pop idols teamed up with Lady Gaga for 'The Star Is Born' star's newest album. All four gals can be heard in Gaga's 'Sour Candy' track. The collaboration comes after the quartet's 'Kiss and Makeup' cooperation with English singer Dua Lipa.
