Katy Perry Bumps Back 'Smile' Scheduled Release Date: 'I Hope The Patience Will Be Worth The Wait'
The 35-year-old pop star, Katy Perry, was forced to defer the scheduled release date of her forthcoming album entitled 'Smile.' The 'Thinking of You' singer broke the unfortunate news on her personal Instagram account through posting a series of photos that starts with her about to throw a pie in the face.
The slideshow photos were posted by Katy on July 27 (Monday) saying that her upcoming fifth album will not appear until August 28. She added that sharing the bad news feels like being tossed a pie in her face. The singer also said that this year taught her not to get too attached to plans and be "malleable."
According to Billboard, 'Smile's' delay was deferred from its original August 14 date, with no stated reason to the decision. However, Katy backed her unlucky news by making up to her dear KatyCats. The two-week delay led Katy to book every Sunday's of August starting August 2 for #SmileSundays.
#SmileSundays by Katy will be dedicated for a live session for thirty minutes or more for a 'Smile' merchandise introduction, and as well as playing video clips, and letting fans join her. Per Katy, the precise time of #SmileSundays will soon be advised. "we'll def have a good chat," Katy added.
Nearing her fifth studio album release and giving birth to her first bundle of joy with fiancé Orlando Bloom, Katy took the end part of her post by thanking her beloved KatyCats for the undying support and patience for the album. She highlighted the fans' flexibility to the matter and promising that the long wait will be all worth it.

Alongside revealing her album details, Katy also dropped the album's lead track of the same name. The record sings a positive message of gratefulness despite being in a dark time of her life. She also revealed that she wrote most of the album's songs when she was on the verge of committing suicide after her breakup with her now-fiancé Orlando Bloom.
