'Ellen DeGeneres Show' Investigation Begins For Misconduct At Workplace
The Ellen DeGeneres Show started getting investigated by WarnerMedia regarding the workplace misconduct claimed. The investigation initiated after Buzzfeed shared a story that involved detailed reasons for such misconduct.
The publication highlighted the details of the employees related to termination, toxic culture, favoritism, racism, and discrimination in several ways. The story was published on July 16 and since then the show has been under the radar.
When Telepictures and Warner Bros. was reached for their comments, they refused. However, it seems they started to investigate directly then commenting publicly on their one of the most high-rated show. The claims were made by the former employees on the show that they have gone through a "culture of fear".
The employees were unable to take leave for medical or funerals. The language and inappropriate comments on the show were troublesome. In the claim, three executive producers' names made the headline for favoritism: Andy Lassner, Mary Connelly, and Ed Glavin.
The executive producers were reached for comments regarding the allegations to which they responded. The producers revealed that they have been trying hard over the past two decades that involved more than a thousand employees and 3,000 episodes to have a safe, inclusive, and open workplace for everyone.
"We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience. It’s not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us," they added.
They further said that the entire responsibility of conducting the show is on them and they are taking these comments into consideration. However, they admitted that they are learning like others in the world as they strive to perform better.
