Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were busted for claiming that they’re concerned about the planet when they’re seemingly not.

National Enquirer published photos of the royal couple getting off their Cadillac XT5. The publication claimed that the SUV is a gas-guzzling luxury car that gets a measly 21 mpg.

The tabloid busted the royal couple for saying that they are eco-crusaders. However, what they’re saying isn’t exactly what they’re doing.

Just recently, the couple said that a clock is ticking to protect the planet. However, Prince Harry and Markle aren’t, allegedly, doing much to protect the planet themselves.

The tabloid also said that this isn’t the first time that the royal couple’s deeds didn’t match their actions. Prince Harry and Markle were busted for preaching about saving the planet when they regularly ride their private jet. Back then, the royal couple drew flak for their alleged insensitivity.

After months of backlash, Prince Harry broke his silence on his and Markle’s reported use of a private jet during their trips.

During his engagement in Amsterdam, the Duke of Sussex said that there are some instances wherein he needs to prioritize the safety of his family over anything else.

“I spend 99 percent of my life traveling the world by commercial [flights]. Occasionally, there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family [is] safe. We can all do better and while no one is perfect, we all have a responsibility for our own individual impact. The question is what we do to balance it out,” Prince Harry, reportedly, said.

Prince Harry’s good friend, Elton John also came to his and Markle’s defense by saying that he was the one that provided the private jet for the Sussexes. The singer said that he wanted to preserve Prince Harry and Markle’s privacy.

“I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week. Prince Harry’s mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death,” he said.

Markle has stayed mum on the issue. And just recently, she revealed that she was prevented by the royal family from speaking up or responding to claims made by the tabloids.
