Prince William, Kate Middleton Will Be Doing Their Duties Virtually Amid Coronavirus Outbreak: Report
Just before members of the British royal family quarantined themselves in their respective homes, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited an NHS center. What they have found there has left them feeling concerned.
According to the Express UK, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were able to visit before the lockdown. But, due to the pandemic, they will now be doing their duties virtually.
The couple has been staying at the Norfolk house along with their children, while the rest of the royals have also been isolating themselves in their respective homes.
Just last week, Prince Charles announced that he was positive for the coronavirus and isolated himself in Scotland along with his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Although Prince Charles seems to be well on his way to recovery, Prince William and Kate have no plans to visit him.
Instead, the couple is trying to find a way to help during this time of need. Vanity Fair reports that the two actually called Queen's Hospital in Burton. They wanted to express their condolences after Amged El-Hawrani, who is a doctor in the said hospital, died after contracting the infection. The doctor is the first UK doctor to die from the disease.
The two not only expressed their sympathy to the hospital for losing one of their own, but they also thanked the staff for their service throughout this difficult time. Before they quarantined themselves, Kate and William actually went to an emergency dispatch center to thank them in person for their service.
Even though they are on lockdown, the couple would still like to do their duties as members of the royal family. This time, they will be doing it virtually.
The Duke and Duchess are not the only royals that are trying to make a difference. Princess Eugenie and husband Jack have been helping her mother Sarah, Duchess of York, in distributing care packages for frontline staff in London and Berkshire.
Prince Charles has also done his duties virtually. This week, he opened a hospital in London, the NHS Nightingale Hospital, by appearing on a video. The said hospital is dedicated just for coronavirus infections and will have at least 4,000 bed ready to receive patients.
Even though the prince has announced that he is no longer in isolation, he is still planning to practice social distancing. Meanwhile, Prince Charles' other son Harry, has left the UK and settled in Calfornia with his wife actress Meghan Markle and son Archie.
