Nicole Kidman And Keith Urban Face Criticism After They Skip Hotel Quarantine To Self-Isolate At Their Home In Australia: Report
Oscar Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her spouse Keith Urban are being slammed by some people after they skipped compulsory hotel quarantine in Australia.
The family was seen enjoying a walk at their Southern Highlands home in Australia. Kidman and Urban have been criticized by some people for not being in quarantine in a hotel, which is mandatory after arrival in Australia amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 53-year-old actress and the 52-year-old Keith Urban flew from Tennessee to Sydney in a private jet this Monday. The couple was accompanied by their two daughters.
The NSW Government, reportedly, gave them special permission to skip a mandatory quarantine for two weeks in a hotel and instead self-isolate at their house. However, the A-list couple had to undergo a health check at the airport before they left for their $6.5 million home.
The couple was seen taking a stroll hand in hand on the grounds of their Australian home, a few hours after they flew from America to Australia.
When news of this special exemption grabbed headlines, some people in Australia seemed to be furious at this relaxation. They pointed out that it appears as if all the travel restrictions imposed to control the coronavirus pandemic are only meant for common people while famous people are spared from obeying them.
The latest development came after 374 fresh COVID-19 cases were recorded in Victoria overnight. Also, there has been tremendous pressure in NSW to implement similar stringent lockdown policies so control the outbreak of the deadly pandemic, Daily Mail reports.
Nicole Kidman was seen in a long padded-jacket to protect herself from the cold and wore a pair of boots during her walk. On the other hand, Keith Urban wore a pair of track pants and a khaki jacket as he enjoyed the walk with Kidman and one of their daughters.
They looked relaxed and happy while walking together on the grounds of their plush mansion. The exemption granted to them has, reportedly, had mixed reactions from their fans.
The Bombshell actress returned to Australia to be closer to her mother Janelle. She is also slated to start shooting for the screen adaptation of Nine Perfect Strangers. The actress is not only acting in the project but is also its co-producer.
It is expected that the project will improve the economy of the South Coast after it was hit by several natural calamities including droughts, bushfires, and restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, pre-production will take place at Nicole Kidman’s Sutton Forest home in NSW, Southern Highland News reports. The series will be also shot at other locations in NSW.
