Charlize Theron Seems Optimistic For 'Atomic Blonde' and 'John Wick' Collaboration
Charlize Theron has proven her mettle in numerous projects. She portrayed a dystopian warrior in Mad Max: Fury Road, she played Aileen Wuornos' character as a serial killer in Monster, and recently she was seen as a News anchor in Bombshell. The Oscar-winning actress has always outperformed every role.
Her commitment to the project ensured the success of Atomic Blonde released in 2017. While the second installment of Atomic Blonde is under development, fans are hot-anticipating if Lorraine Broughton's character will be seen crossing paths with another iconic action hero.
In case, John Wick and Atomic Blonde characters met in the future project, then it would be the third time these two action stars coming on-screen together. Keanu Reeves had shared the screen with Theron in a supernatural thriller with Al Pacino released in 1997, The Devil’s Advocate.
The duo was seen again in a romantic movie, Sweet November released in 2001. One thing fans are sure that they never had a romantic relationship in personal life. They have maintained a healthy friendship over the decades.
In fact, the pair took training for Atomic Blonde and John Wick: Chapter 2 simultaneously. It seems the actors will be great partners even off-screen as far as their training is concerned. There are few movies that are not connected and yet feel like coming from the same universe.
Atomic Blonde and John Wick are such two movies, even though they aren't officially linked yet. Both the movies have similar DNA as David Leitch who directed Atomic Blonde, also worked on John Wick as an unsung co-director.
Leitch didn't finish shooting the franchise and went on with Atomic Blonde. However, the popular stuntman Chad Stahelski decided to helm John Wick. On the other hand, Leitch collaborated with Theron for movies such as Atomic Blonde, Hobbs & Shaw, and Deadpool 2.
The actor and director duo is now set to create a sequel for Netflix. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Theron was asked about the cross-over rumors. Without any further ado, Theron shared that as soon as she receives a call, she's game.
The actress told the outlet that she just need to know the time and location, and she will be there. “Keanu is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world; I absolutely love him. I respect him, I admire him and I am so grateful that I got to make two movies with him,” she added.
