Prince Harry is, allegedly, seething after learning that Meghan Markle was spied on years ago after they started dating.

According to Woman’s Day, a UK-based tabloid hired a spy from the United States to track Markle. And the spy, who posed as a journalist, managed to get access to Markle’s security number and driver’s license details.

After learning about what happened, Prince Harry was allegedly enraged. He also issued a statement urging everyone to leave Markle alone.

Since then, the Duke of Sussex has allegedly become more obsessed with privacy. And he has also become more paranoid.

“When he read about this private investigator allegation, he lost his mind and immediately had his lawyers' fire off a Letter Before Action to The Sun. This is exactly the kind of thing he was trying to avoid for Meghan. And if a tabloid newspaper can so easily hire someone to spy on her, who’s to say that others who wish her harm haven’t done the same thing?” the source said.

According to the insider, Prince Harry recalled how Prince William encouraged him to not rush into marrying Markle. And Archie’s dad became convinced that this might have also been what the palace aides must have done.

“The laws about investigating people are a little greyer in America than they are in the UK. Harry’s freaking out about how many people might have had access to Meghan’s personal information, outside of the palace, and in. But if anyone else has tried it, they can consider his letter to The Sun as a warning shot,” the source said.

The spy eventually issued an apology to Markle and Prince Harry and said that he didn’t even know who the former was back in 2016.

He said that he was simply given the name and the tabloid asked him to find out where she lived and then prepare a background report.

In January, Prince Harry and Markle announced their decision to quit the royal family. They said that one of the reasons behind their decision was their privacy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also received a slew of criticisms throughout the span of their relationship and they couldn’t take them anymore.

Prince Harry and Markle filed a lawsuit against British tabloids who have been spreading false allegations about them. They are now in Los Angeles and are venturing on their own work that’s not funded by the royal family.
