Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom will soon welcome their first baby. The singer-songwriter has reportedly selected Jennifer Aniston as their first choice to be the baby’s godmother.

The songstress declared in March this year that she and her beau Orlando Bloom are pregnant with their first baby. However, Perry made her pregnancy announcement through a video for her single Never Worn White. 

Perry is seen showing off her baby bump in the video with great pride. The happy couple threw a gender reveal party in April where they got to know that it is a baby girl for them.

It appears that the 35-year-old songstress has already decided who her baby’s godmother is going to be. Reports have it that Jen could not hold back her tears when she got to know this.

Jennifer Aniston has been a close friend of the pregnant singer and now it looks like she is the top choice to become the godmother of her pal’s daughter. Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter tells that she is “waddling like a duck” at present.

The Friends alum has been a big support to the soon-to-be-parents amid the COVID-19 lockdown. The source insisted that the duo used to go for socially distanced walks, as well as, did plenty of catching up during lockdown, Mirror.co.uk reports.

For the universe, The Morning Show star and the Daisies hitmaker have been close pals for around a decade now and their bond has strengthened over the years. 

However, this would not be the first time when the 51-year-old beauty will be carrying out the responsibilities of a godmother. Aniston is already a godmother to the 16-year-old Coco who is the daughter of actress Courteney Cox.

Jen and Cox have been buddies since the time they were co-stars in the popular sitcom Friends. Incidentally, Katy Perry is also a godmother of Cox’s daughter. 

The songstress is slated to give birth to her daughter soon and told in an interview that she has nicknamed her baby “Kicky Perry.” As far as her work is concerned, Perry’s next album Smile is scheduled to get released on August 14, 2020. 

It is interesting to note that Perry’s fiancé Orlando Bloom took to social media to celebrate The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’s 15th anniversary in December 2016, Pinkvilla reports. He posted an adorable throwback collage on his Instagram page and Perry had jested that he looked like Jen “on the lower right.”

Meanwhile, spokespersons of both Katy Perry and Jennifer Aniston are yet to confirm the news of the singer choosing her friend as a godmother.
