Jennifer Lopez Talks About 'Self-Destructive' Relationship With Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez has dated many eligible bachelors in the business and married thrice. She has been all over the tabloids for dating high-profile celebrities such as Sean Combs, who is also popularly known as Diddy. Lopez has an interesting timeline of her dating life as well as her professional life.
The 50-year-old actress has one such romance with actor Ben Affleck. They both got engaged officially but never went ahead with their relationship. After the engagement was called off, Lopez described the relationship as “self-destructive.”
Affleck and Lopez met on the sets of Gigli in 2002, they soon began to date each other as Lopez was amid divorce procedure with her second husband, Chris Judd. While they made headlines, fans thought the couple looked odd together.
Since their relationship was announced, the paparazzi craze was at the peak as they made sure that the couple was clicked anywhere spotted. The glamorous diva of Hollywood and The Way Back star use to walk hand in hand for various events.
In the same year, the couple announced their engagement and started working on a new project, Jersey Girl. In fact, Lopez released a music video in which Affleck was featured, Jenny From the Block. However, the couple ended their relationship in 2003 after they postponed their wedding.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Maid in Manhattan star spoke about Affleck. She revealed that their relationship became full of insecurities, self-destruction, and entangled in such a way that she started to lose herself.
Lopez explained, “I lost my sense of self, questioned if I belonged in this business, thought maybe I did suck at everything, And my relationship [with Affleck] self-destructed in front of the entire world.” Lopez further disclosed that it took her two years to get back on track.
In another interview with W Magazine, the actress told that the relationship got ruined because of being insecure and young. She explained that men are usually super confident in their 20s while women are not.
However, things flip when they age. Women slowly turn confident and men become insecure. Currently, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star following divorce with Jennifer Garner is focused on raising his kids.
