Bob Marley’s classic hit-track "One Love" will see a new light as the Marley Family will be re-recording the song in partnership with the humanitarian U.N. agency UNICEF. The reimagined version will give ear to Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella, son Stephen, grandson Skip, musicians from different parts of the globe, creative artists from disputed areas across the world, and voices of children from less fortunate communities.

As CNN reported, referencing from the press release by UNICEF, Marley Family decided to reimagine the music icon’s song to directly give aid to UNICEF’s global campaign, a charity work named ‘Reimagine’, in “reimagining a fairer” world for children whose lives have been “upended” by the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 and guarantee the post-pandemic layout for the children is safe and secure.

Cedella Marley said in a statement that ‘One Love’ was purposely written by Bob Marley to spread the message of unity, universal love, and peace when the world was in so much trouble. "Even in a time when we aren't able to get together, his message remains true today, we can get through this global crisis if we come together through one love and one heart," Cedella added.

Alongside the Marley Family and UNICEF, jewellery company Pandora will match every U.S. dollar donation up to one millions U.S. dollars from July 9, 2020 to August 31, 2020, and short-sharing video application TikTok will be hosting a launch event that features a challenge concentrating around the song: further details is yet to be provided, NME reported.

UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta expressed the agency’s goal in a statement saying that they glaze a less-discriminatory word for children through global solidarity and cooperation. Through ‘Reimagine’ and the support of the Marley Family, Pandora, and Tiktok, UNICEF will be able to distribute soaps, gloves, masks, hygiene kits, and PPE’s to children and families, and as well as supporting the children’s protection healthcare systems and accessible education.

"One Love/People Get Ready" was originally recorded by Bob Marley and The Wailers in 1977 that instantly became a hit-song touching the lives of millions of people across the world. The reimagined version of the song will be launched under Marley’s record label and recording studio, Tuff Gong International label, teaming up with the globally renowned record company Amplified Music. The record is set to be released on July 17.

With "Reimagine," UNICEF is urging an appeal to the public, donors, private sectors, and governments in preventing this global pandemic caused by COVID-19 in affecting the most vulnerable. Support UNICEF by donating to the global campaign "Reimagine," click here.
