Keanu Reeves Might Join DC Extended Universe As A Superhero
Keanu Reeves is one of those actors who is loved by his fans over a decade, no matter how he performed at the box office. Reeves has been a part of many franchises that are reviving now. Although the most hotly anticipated franchise for fans is DC Extended Universe.
As per the rumormongers, the 55-year-old actor might return to portray a character in the DC Universe which has already been featured. Reeves has increased his popularity since John Wick got a smashing hit at the box office in 2014.
The actor has experienced some great opportunities since then and already released two additions to the John Wick franchise while the upcoming installment will be premiered in 2022. Moreover, Toy Story 4 and Always Be My Maybe which released in 2019 created enough room for Reeves to continue the franchises.
While the actor was all over the tabloids for Speed 2: Cruise Control, there is no sequel under development for this project. Reeves and Alex Winter who started their journey with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure in the late 80s and had a sequel Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey in the early 90s are all set to get back together for Bill and Ted Face the Music in 2020.
Furthermore, Reeves' highly anticipated film The Matrix 4 is expected to release in 2022. While these sequels are under development or already slated the release dates, there are rumors that the actor might be back playing a Superhero in DC Extended Universe, John Constantine.
As per We Got This Covered, Warner Bros. is looking forward to getting Reeves to portray John Constantine again, which he played in 2005 and it was a box office success. The studio is also behind the production of The Matrix and fans are speculating that might lead Reeves back for Constantine.
Additionally, the actor himself has mentioned several times regarding his immense interest in reprising Constantine. It is expected the actor would be glad to be part of the sequel. However, unless there is an official announcement from either the studio or the actor, this news should be considered as the word on the street.
In case, this becomes a true story in the future then Reeves might be seen in the DC Extended Universe film as usual norms and then have a solo sequel. Meanwhile, the creators are working on the core of Hellblazer as per the comic book while Matt Ryan who is portraying Constantine on TV series can be seen reprising the role in the Justice League Dark series.
