Lindsay Lohan Hints At A New Single Amid The Coronavirus Pandemic
Lindsay Lohan is all set to make a comeback. The 33-year-old actress known for making regular appearances on popular television films is gearing up to make a return with a brand new music single.
She announced her comeback shared a 30-second clip on her social media accounts Tuesday, Mar. 31. The mysterious clip captioned “I’m back” came with a link that fans could click to visit a music streaming platform and pre-save her single.
The former child star refrained from spilling the beans on her upcoming album's release date, title, and other details. The teaser features a staticky TV that flashes from time to time while Lohan's name is echoed by a news anchor. The "Mean Girls" star is seen making her appearance at red carpets, pestered by paparazzi and dancing in her 2004 hit music video "Rumors."
The clip, as well as the voices, speeds up towards the end. The TV explodes to reveal a smiley face logo, flashing across the screen as Lohan is heard saying, “I’m back.” It can be recalled that Lohan had teased a single entitled "Xanax" in August last year, and gave fans a brief glimpse of the music video on Instagram, but much to their chagrin, the song didn't see the light of the day.
Lohan made her foray into the music industry back in 2002 when she signed a production deal with Emilio and Gloria Estefan. She garnered skyrocketing popularity for her role in "Freaky Friday," which led to her first single titled "Ultimate." Lohan recorded four songs for musical-comedy "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" in 2004 and that propelled her straight to pop stardom.
In 2004, she released her debut album titled "Speak" in collaboration with Casablanca Records. The album grabbed the No. 4 spot on the Billboard 200 Chart. While it remains to be seen whether or not Lohan's recently-teased album proves to be a hit, her surprise announcement has received mixed reactions from Twitteratis.
Referring to the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed numerous lives around the world, Twitter user CaliRae replied, “Sorry sis, we are in the middle of a global pandemic.” Other Twitter users suggest this announcement could just be an April Fool’s Day prank that Lohan is trying to pull off on her fans.
Primarily known as an actress, Lindsay Lohan's last single dubbed "Bossy" was released in 2008. She even starred in a 2019 MTV reality show called "Lohan Beach Club" that centered on her attempt to successfully launch a restaurant and nightclub in Greece.
