Actress Christina Ricci ended her marriage after seven years with husband James Heerdegen as she filed divorce. The divorce was filed after the actress was provided with an emergency protective order after allegedly Heerdegen spat on her.

The 40-year-old actress was spotted on July 2 at a friend's house in California without a wedding ring on her finger. According to Us Weekly, the Los Angeles Police Department received a call regarding domestic battery and issued an order immediately that stops the couple from being in any contact without any protection.

Reportedly, the domestic violence took place in their home at Woodland Hills. Ricci who acted in various movies as a child artist cited that the differences between her and the film producer Heerdegen are irreconcilable.

The actress further asked for physical and legal sole custody of their son Freddie who is five years old. Samantha Spector is the divorce attorney of Ricci who is also taking care of another celebrity divorce, American rapper Dr. Dre and Nicole Young.

Heerdegen and Ricci met on the sets of Pan Am series which aired on ABC in 2011 and started dating soon after. The couple soon got married in 2013 and welcomed their son in 2014 named Freddie.

In the morning around 9:20 AM, June 25, the officials received the domestic battery radio call, which was confirmed by the outlet of LAPD PIO. Recently, on June 21 the actress took Instagram and posted a handmade card by her son for his father that reads "We love you, Daddy".

Another picture posted was in 2019 on Father's Day that displayed a cute picture of her son and husband together and added a hashtag, #loveofourlives. Heerdegen and Ricci got engaged in 2013 and in the following year, they got married by exchanging vows at Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall.

In an interview with The Edit in 2017, the actress told how motherhood and marriage had changed her. She explained that marriage helped her to learn about her flaws and how she deals with it while having a baby will ensure that, as a person, you grow up quickly.

The Addams Family star told that due to her fame in childhood and all the attention she received, it seemed that kept her immature for longer than usual a person would be. While it was something that made her different from others, the actress admitted that at the age of 35 being immature is not really that special.
