Prince Harry Shares Emotional Message About Princess Diana On What Would’ve Been Her 59th Birthday
Prince Harry, recently, shared an inspiring message about Princess Diana on what would’ve been her 59th birthday.
On July 1, the Duke of Sussex appeared in a video about racism for the Diana Award. In the clip, which was filmed from his home in Beverly Hills, Prince Harry acknowledged all those who continue to love and remember his late mother.
Prince Harry said that if Princess Diana was still alive, she would definitely fight for victims of racism, inequality, and injustice.
The Duke of Sussex also said that the Princess of Wales didn’t take an easy route or the popular and comfortable one like a lot of people in the world today. But the late royal stood for something, and she stood up for those who needed it.
Prince Harry said that the world struggles with division, isolation, and anger right now. But he still sees the greatest hope in the people who won the prestigious Diana Award. And he’s confident about the world’s future and its ability to heal because of them.
Archie’s dad also referenced his wife, Meghan Markle in his lengthy clip. He said that Markle told him that the people from previous and today’s generations have not done enough to right the wrongs of the past. And for this, he is sorry.
Prince Harry also stressed the fact that institutional racism doesn’t have a place in today’s society. However, there is no denying the fact that it is still endemic.
In order to create a better world, Prince Harry said that unconscious bias must be acknowledged without blame.
According to People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been taking an active approach to fighting systemic racism.
Some of their initiatives include holding calls with community leaders and organizations. However, they have been doing things privately to see how they can play a role. But at the end of the day, the royal couple also wants to learn and talk about it like the rest of the world.
Last month, Markle gave an inspiring speech to a group of high school graduates from her alma mater. Her video recording was shared shortly after the tragic death of George Floyd in the hands of white police officers.
Following the incident, thousands of people rallied behind Floyd. And they also promoted the Black Lives Matter movement on social media and across the globe.
