Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks Call Out People Who Are Not Following Social Distancing
Tom Hanks was infected with coronavirus in March along with his wife, Rita Wilson. Since then several Hollywood stars have been asking to wear masks and maintain a proper healthy distance from each other due to coronavirus pandemic.
COVID-19 cases reportedly began to spike in many states across America while on the other hand, there were businesses who attempted to reopen to which Jennifer Aniston and Tom Hanks both released a statement in public to encourage them to let flatten the curve and maintain distance.
The statement urged everyone to take care of one another and themselves while maintaining social distance. Recently, Hanks attended a press conference where he discussed Greyhound and also talked about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As per People magazine, the 63-year-old actor told that individuals can do only three things to keep themselves safe, putting a mask on your face, keeping a healthy distance from others, and washing your hands.
The actor discussed the characters’ similarities with the current crisis entire world is going through and called out people, "Those things are so simple, so easy if anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things -- I just think shame on you"
The Cast Away actor went on and said everyone should do their part and it's a basic thing to do. He gave an example that if someone drives a car then they don't drive too fast and if someone wants to make a turn then they use indicators to avoid hitting anyone.
Wilson and Hanks are the first high-profile celebrities who announced their health issues regarding coronavirus and thankfully recovered from the viral virus. Aniston took Instagram to share a similar message with her fans. The 51-year-old actress wrote a long post that explained why wearing a mask is so important.
Friends star said even though wearing a mask is uncomfortable and inconvenient for many but it is worse to see many businesses are shut, people are becoming jobless, health workers are exhausted. While so many lives are lost due to coronavirus, we don’t seem to be participating enough, she further added.
Aniston also called out those people who are refusing to take important steps to flatten the curve and worried that their rights will be taken away if they wear masks. She further mentioned how an effective and extremely simple recommendation to keep one another safe by keeping the mask on is being "politicized."
