Fans To Boycott ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Upcoming Installment
Pirates of the Caribbean fans have warned the creators that they won't watch the upcoming installment of the movie without Johnny Depp. Last week, the hard-core fans of their beloved star received a surprise announcement regarding Margot Robbie who will star and produce the next Pirates of the Caribbean.
While the fans were happy with the news, they are worried about Johnny Depp. This movie is different from the reboot version that is led by Karen Gillan. There will be two new movies of Pirates of the Caribbean and Depp's fans are waiting for the return of Captain Jack Sparrow's character. Fans are looking forward to seeing Captain Jack Sparrow’s return in both upcoming films or at least in one of them.
Fans believed that the 57-year-old actor was unfairly fired by the Disney franchise. One of the fans clearly tweeted that if the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean film does not consist of Captain Jack Sparrow’s character or no Depp then the movie will be boycotted.
This tweet was well-received by the fellow tweetarians with more than 1,500 retweets, 8,000 likes, and 250 comments so far. Other fans were all praised for 29-year-old Australian actress while they still want Depp to be featured in this movie.
One of the fans also wrote how Amber Heard lied and accused Depp with fabricated stories while portraying him as an abusive partner. In an interview, even Depp agreed that the 34-year-old actress ruined his life.
Depp's ex-wife mentioned in The Washington Post and accused that she went through domestic abuse by her "ex" while she didn't mention any name but it got the Alice in Wonderland star fired from the popular movie series.
However, fans are excited to see Robbie after playing Harley Quinn on the big screen successfully. She is expected to don the character of a new pirate smoothly. As per the source, Robbie will reunite with the screenwriter of Birds of Prey, Christina Hodson for the upcoming Disney movie.
The movie won't be a spin-off and instead, it will be a completely separate story that will introduce new characters to the plot. The latest Pirates movie is currently under the pre-production stage.
The flick will be produced by 76-year-old Jerry Bruckheimer, who is responsible for creating previous Pirates of the Caribbean films. As the movie is set to feature new characters, it is worth watching if they decide to have Depp make a cameo as Captain Jack Sparrow.
