New details about Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud have emerged.

In the book Royals At War, investigative journalists Dylan Howard claimed that the royal siblings’ feud isn’t about the rumors that Prince William convinced Prince Harry not to wed Meghan Markle after dating for a year and a half.

He said that Prince William and Kate Middleton also became concerned after they learned that Prince Harry had been spending so much since he started dating the Suits alum.

Howard said that Prince Harry shelled out a huge sum of money for acupuncture after Markle encouraged him to become healthier. The Duchess of Sussex also urged her husband to spend on other wellness therapies like massages and aromatherapy.

Markle, on the other hand, spent thousands of dollars on maternity clothes. She also had a lavish three-night babymoon at a luxury spa in Hampshire.

After Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot in 2017, they decided to renovate Frogmore Cottage. According to Howard, the cost of the refurbishment angered Queen Elizabeth.

But following the royal couple’s bombshell exit, they vowed to pay back the amount that was used to renovate their home in the United Kingdom.

Howard said that the fact that Markle spent a huge sum of money sent off alarm bells with the queen. After all, the monarch grew up in the war era so she had a built-in sense of frugality and economy. This is the case even though she's one of the richest women in the world. 

Howard also said that Prince William and Prince Harry could’ve avoided their rift if only the latter saw the former’s concerns in the spirit that they were intended. But since the Duke of Sussex is very protective of Markle, he became defensive.

“Harry feels he couldn’t protect his mother, so he’s going all out to protect his wife. He is so sensitive he often sees criticism or negativity where there isn’t any,” Howard said.

Today, there are claims that Prince William and Prince Harry are slowly patching things up. The royal siblings have allegedly started talking. However, there is no confirmation that this is the case.

After all, Prince Harry and Markle have been staying in Los Angeles since March. Prince William and Middleton have been staying in Anmer Hall since the coronavirus pandemic started.
