Sarah Shahi, Steve Howey Ends Their Marriage After 11 Years
After staying together for over a decade, Sarah Shahi and Steve Howey decided to part their ways. The couple filed for divorce on May 4 in Los Angeles Superior Court. They share three kids, twins Knox Blue and Violet Moon, 5, and William Wolf, 10.
As per the joint statement received by PEOPLE, the couple told that after much consideration and thought, they have decided to end their marriage. They mentioned being grateful for the years they have spent together and proud of the kids they have raised.
Bullet to the Head and See You in Valhalla star told that they are ready to enter the new phase of their respective lives and their priority will be co-parenting their kids with mutual respect, so much love, and friendship.
Although the relationship dynamic is changing, they promised to stay committed to continue their lives as a "loving family". The 42-year-old actor who was seen in Shameless since 2011 playing Kevin Ball, met the 40-year-old actress in 2004 on the sets of Reba and in 2009 the duo wed in Las Vegas.
Back in 2016, the couple spoke about welcoming the twins and how everything changed in their lives. Howey said that it is not easy to handle the kids but all three babies are beautiful. He also said that they are a very close-knit family but just bigger.
The actor acknowledged that parenting their children can be overwhelming but then the couple managed to work really hard and ensure that they could schedule their time to work out together. As per the reports, Shahi was the one who filed for divorce.
The Making Babies actor admitted that he and his wife Shahi tried to do at least something together as he further mentioned about running to the kitchen and have tequila shot really fast if they can’t make time for anything else.
Howey said after doing the quick shots, they often go back to changing the diapers or playroom. However, it seems the couple tried their best to keep the relationship going but things didn’t really work in their favor.
The duo had tried to keep a lot of normality in their family despite both their careers in Hollywood. The actress once told Access Hollywood that there is a special place in heaven for the couple as they are already going through hell currently. It seems the couple has been hinting towards this news for a long time.
