Alia Shawkat and Brad Pitt have been seen together on multiple occasions since November last year triggering rumors of them being an item. Here is what the actress has to say about these dating rumors. 

 

She has been rumored as the Troy actor’s latest girlfriend since last year. The Arrested Development star finally decided to set the records right on whether she is in a relationship with Pitt or not. 

 

Shawkat has been romantically linked to the Hollywood A-lister ever since they were seen attending an art exhibition together last November. Since then, the pair have been spotted enjoying each other’s company several times.

 

However, the 31-year-old actress has opened up for the first time about her relationship with the Fight Club actor. Shawkat confirmed that although Pitt and she are extremely close, they share a platonic relationship.

 

The stunning actress said in an interview given to Vulture that they are not dating and are “just friends.” A seemingly bewildered Shawkat also responded to the hysteria surrounding their outings by mentioning that the press is “not so uncontrollable.”

 

The duo has been spotted together at a Kanye West Show, relishing food together at In-N-Out and even at one of her gallery shows in recent months. Shawkat confessed that even her close pals had asked about the truth behind her relationship with the actor. 

 

Alia Shawkat says such questions made her feel overwhelmed. She had a feeling similar to what one goes through when they are without clothes in school. The actress also became extremely self-conscious and had a feeling of being stared by people around her. 

 

Previously, even Us Weekly had reported of the duo hanging out a lot during COVID-19 lockdown. An insider told them they are often going out together and live only a few minutes away from one another. 

 

The same tipster also said that Brad Pitt shares a friendly relationship with Shawkat. The source further added the actress has been assisting Pitt with his art studio. On the other hand, Pitt has been helping her in brainstorming the projects she should be associated with. 

 

Meanwhile, the Arrested Development star had apologized for using the N-word in an interview. The clip had created a frenzy on social media after which she regretted her use of the word. 

 

The 31-year-old has been vocal about demanding justice about the brutal killing of a Black American called George Floyd. She has even participated in the protests related to the Black Lives Matter movement. 

 

Alia Shawkat wrote an apology over the controversial clip and shared it on Twitter, as well as, on her Instagram page. Finally, the actress has made it clear that she and Brad Pitt are just good friends contrary to the speculations.
