Prince Harry, recently, did something so wonderful one could say he truly has a knack for helping and giving back. Meghan Markle must be so proud.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went all the way in when they lent their time and efforts to Homeboy Industries as volunteers on Tuesday, June 23. 

The couple went to the LA-based non-profit organization, which had in their roster of employees, former gang members and other individuals trying to build their lives amidst an environment that can be cruel and harsh against them. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went there to assist bakery and cafe workers in preparing the food to be served under the #FeedHope Initiative that the organization engaged in for the city.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle helped bake the breads and packaged the meals that would be sent out to seniors and foster care youth that were greatly affected by the pandemic. The founder of Homeboy Industries, Father Greg Boyle is the one who provided all these details to US Weekly himself.

According to Boyle, Meghan Markle was the one who personally contacted him to discuss what was happening in the country at the moment. After this, they set up a meeting, two weeks before this fated initiative took place. Boyle asserted that Meghan Markle truly is a deep thinker on societal issues so they had a very stimulating discussion. The discussion ended with Markle saying she and Prince Harry would swing by.

And they did. Donning their masks, they came through for the initiative. 

"I think now that they’re in Los Angeles, they’re the real deal, these two,” Boyle revealed. “They really kind of want to make an impact so I give them a lot of credit because their hearts and their minds are, I think, in the right place.” 

Boyle explained that the two were not just all talk without the walk. The pair did not just want to tour the organization nor engage in some round table discussion. They truly wanted to exert their efforts and pitch in.

The owner of the organization was so impressed with Prince Harry in particular too. According to him, Harry spoke with one of the workers, who promptly burst into tears when she brought up she just lost the father of her son. Harry, upon hearing this, disregarded all quarantine rules and comforted the woman. “Harry just held her. It was very sweet, very sweet. But it was kind of raw for her.”

Boyle said that the whole thing was so touching because Harry’s actions were not carefully strategized or anything. Instead, it was very immediate. While it was probably unwise to forget the distancing rules, this incident shows where Harry’s heart truly is.
