Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Could Face Financial Difficulties After Quitting Royal Family
The time has come for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to come out of the royal family. However, the couple could be facing heavy financial crunches as there are reports of them struggling with their financial independence plans.
According to a report published in Express, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be facing financial difficulties after clearing the expenses for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which has cost them multi-million pounds. A royal insider has reportedly revealed that it could be a concern for Markle and her husband.
It is a known fact that Harry and Markle had given their words for repaying the refurbishment expenses of their home. They had decided not to take any fund from the Sovereign Grant of the Queen because they will not be working as royals anymore.
There have been some speculations about the possibility of Markle making a comeback in Hollywood. After all, the Duchess has recently done a voiceover for a documentary titled “Elephant.” However, the payment was donated to a charity, thus not improving their financial position.
A royal insider has claimed that the couple finds this financial stress immensely worrying, and Markle has told her husband to find a job and the urgent need for him to step up. The same insider has also mentioned that the couple could be worried because Harry does not have any marketable skills and did not have a formal job ever.
While Harry might be giving up his royal lifestyle for his American wife, who is looked upon as a rebel, he could be quite concerned about their future at this point. Some sources have claimed that Harry could be hoping to get income from paid speeches and book deals.
The source further added that in case Harry fails to get a job, he might have to pay the price for shirking away from his royal bloodline responsibilities. Harry has recently regretted having to sacrifice his military accolades as Meghan Markle, and he relinquishes their royal roles.
It is noted that Harry is not only leaving his royal duties but also has to step down from his military role as a result. Incidentally, he has been a part of the British army for a decade. He became a captain and undertook a couple of tours to Afghanistan., New Idea reports
In December 2017, Harry succeeded the Duke of Edinburgh when the Queen handed him the military title of Captain-General. On Mar. 7, Harry delivered a speech where he mentioned, "I feel I'm letting people down, but I had no choice." He said he was proud to have served the army.
