Although Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman have parted ways around two decades ago, their fans have been always curious about their relationship. 

 

The Mission Impossible star and the Bombshell actress were married for around 11 years and split almost two decades ago. Yet, people still take their names together from time to time. Interviewers keep mentioning the actor’s name while speaking to Kidman and vice versa.

 

A couple of years ago, the Eyes Wide Shut actress explained why she is not fond of talking too much about her former husband. Kidman and Cruise reportedly met one another for the first time in 1989 while shooting for Days of Thunder. 

 

The couple exchanged vows just two years later in Colorado. However, their fans were shocked when a representative of the Top Gun actor declared the news about their impending separation in 2001. The actor filed a divorce from his wife just two days later.

 

Kidman has had to often face questions about her former husband and his personal life. For instance, the actress was once asked in an interview whether she finds any resemblances between her marriage to Cruise and her character in Boy Erased. 

 

In the film, the actress portrays the character of the wife of a Christian preacher while in actual life; Cruise is a believer in the controversial Church of Scientology. Nicole Kidman categorically said since she is married to someone else, she did not want to speak about that “out of respect for him.” 

 

The actress said, after all, it has been two decades since her marriage to Tom Cruise ended. Also, she is in a stage of life where she can safely say she does not want to discuss her ex.

 

Kidman also mentioned that if she continues speaking about her former spouse Tom Cruise, it will be disrespectful to the actor, as well as, to her husband Keith Urban. She said there is hardly any person who would like to be at a dinner party and respond to queries about her ex in the presence of her current husband. 

 

However, the actress did tell the People magazine once that she was devastated after her divorce from Cruise. She had also opened up about how she suffered a miscarriage just a few years after their marriage. The actress said she thought they were leading a perfect life and took a long time to get over it.

 

Meanwhile, Kidman and Urban are not quite fond of discussing their personal lives. However, the country crooner once gave valuable insight into how his relationship with his stunning wife was. 

 

In an interview given to Zane Low once, Keith Urban spoke about how Nicole Kidman was responsible for influencing his music after they got married, HELLO! reports. The couple shares two beautiful children.
