Gypsy Rose Blanchard has postponed a DNA test to confirm the paternity of her unborn child, fueling speculation about the identity of the baby's father. The decision to delay testing has raised eyebrows, particularly as Blanchard insists that her fiancé, Ken Urker, is the father, despite rumors involving her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson.

Blanchard, who gained notoriety for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, recently announced her pregnancy, just seven months after being released from a Missouri prison. The pregnancy news came in July, with Blanchard sharing her excitement in a video posted on her YouTube channel, stating, "Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected, but we're both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood."

However, the joyful announcement quickly became mired in controversy as speculation arose that the father of Blanchard's baby might not be Urker, but rather Anderson, to whom she was married when she was released from prison in late December 2023. Blanchard and Anderson had tied the knot in July 2022 while she was still incarcerated, but by March 2024, their relationship had deteriorated, leading Blanchard to announce their separation on social media.

Blanchard officially filed for divorce from Anderson in April and soon rekindled her relationship with Urker, whom she had met as a pen pal during her prison term. Despite the rekindling of her romance with Urker, rumors persisted that Anderson could be the child's father, prompting Blanchard to address the issue publicly.

"There was never any question of paternity," Blanchard said during an interview on "Good Morning America" last month. She reiterated that "this is absolutely 100% Ken's baby," dismissing any doubts about the timeline of her pregnancy. Blanchard also took to social media to clarify the situation, providing detailed dates that she claims confirm Urker as the father. "Left Ryan March 23rd had a period April 17th, made love with Ken and only him April 27, 28, 29, 30 and conceived on May 4th positive test on May 24th. KEN IS THE FATHER," Blanchard wrote in response to online inquiries.

Despite Blanchard's assertions, the official confirmation of the baby's paternity will not occur until after the child's birth in January 2025. According to sources cited by TMZ, Blanchard and Anderson have agreed to postpone the DNA test until then, citing the cost and complexity of testing an unborn child. While conducting a prenatal DNA test could cost anywhere from $500 to $2,000, the cost drops significantly to around $150 to $200 if performed after birth.

The delay in testing also holds legal implications. Under Louisiana law, if Blanchard's divorce from Anderson is not finalized by the time she gives birth, Anderson would be legally recognized as the child's father on the birth certificate. To prevent this, the couple would need to present a paternity test proving Anderson is not the father.

While no legal issues or injuries have been reported concerning the pregnancy, the situation remains fraught with uncertainty. Anderson, for his part, has not publicly commented on the matter, and it remains unclear how the outcome of the paternity test will affect the legal proceedings surrounding the divorce.

Blanchard's life has been under intense scrutiny since her involvement in her mother's death, a case that garnered widespread media attention and was later dramatized in the Hulu series "The Act." Her relationship with Anderson, her subsequent engagement to Urker, and now the impending birth of her child continue to keep her in the public eye, with each development scrutinized by both media and the public.
