The hotly-anticipated The Voice Season 19 is likely to introduce radical overhauls. Earlier this week, NBC confirmed that the popular show will make its come back for the 2020-21 season, but there will be a noteworthy change in the lineup of coaches.

With Gwen Stefani all set to reclaim her seat for the impending season, the network has confirmed that Nick Jonas will be leaving The Voice. Stefani has been a part of the show's seasons seven, nine, as well as twelve as a coach and has also mentored in season eight and ten. She replaced Adam Levine as a coach in season 17 which aired last year.

Stefani remained in the show's entire season after her recent comeback. The popular singer departed from the show citing her Just a Girl Las Vegas residency, according to Deadline. In Sept. 2019, Stefani divulged details about how she balances both projects, admitting that she didn't expect to be doing her Las Vegas show and The Voice simultaneously.

The Just a Girl singer admitted that she feels alive in a way that she has never been before because doing both at the same time is a lot of work, Entertainment Times reported. When Stefani left The Voice Season 17, NBC President Meredith Ahr said in a statement that Nick Jonas will be replacing her as a coach on the show.

Nick has garnered exceptional popularity in multiple aspects of the music industry as a member of one of the most popular pop groups. The statement noted that Jonas boasts innate musicality, coupled with technical aptitude, adding that he brought passion to NBC's reality show dubbed Songland earlier this year.

Touting Jonas as a perfect fit as a coach on The Voice, the network said it was excited to see him lend his mentorship, vast knowledge, and relatability to a new crop of singers. Jonas released a statement, expressing his excitement to be a part of The Voice family. Jonas said he was waiting with bated breath to help these artists build and hone in to discover their unique voices.

The four coaches for The Voice's upcoming fall season were unveiled on June 16 via an Instagram post that also confirmed Jonas' exit and Stefani's return. Aside from that, the post confirmed Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson will be joining Stefani as coaches in season 19.
