Donald Trump Jr. Warns Suitors to 'Stay Away' from Daughter Kai After Viral RNC Debut
In a series of protective and controversial remarks, Donald Trump Jr. issued a stern warning to admirers of his 17-year-old daughter, Kai Trump, after her speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) went viral. The eldest son of former President Donald Trump made it clear that he is not comfortable with the attention his daughter has been receiving online.
Kai, the eldest grandchild of Donald Trump, made her political debut at the RNC in Milwaukee on Wednesday. Her speech quickly gained traction on social media, particularly on X, formerly known as Twitter. Thousands of comments praised the teen, who Donald Jr. shares with his ex-wife, Vanessa.
During an appearance on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle," Donald Trump Jr. addressed the newfound attention towards his daughter. "Get away, you little b*****ds, and stay away," he bluntly stated, sending a clear message to the teenage boys showing interest in Kai.
Adding to the controversy, Donald Jr. had previously posted a video on TikTok where he referred to Kai as "sexy" while they were preparing for the RNC. In the video, he asked Kai, "Kai, what do you think? [Does] getting makeup make me look sexy like you?" Kai responded, "I think you look very beautiful," to which her father replied, "Thank you, Kai. I'm glad you think I look very beautiful. I don't do this often, but in HD, you better do it!"
This choice of words sparked a wave of criticism on TikTok, with many users questioning the appropriateness of his comment. "I've replayed this about 100 times to try and convince myself I must be mishearing what he said," one commenter wrote. Another added, "Why would you say that?" A third remarked, "What is it with the Trump family and their daughters? Creepy doesn't even begin to describe it," referring to past controversial comments made by Donald Trump about his daughter Ivanka.
Despite the backlash, neither Donald Jr. nor Kai have publicly addressed the controversy surrounding his comments. During her speech at the RNC, Kai focused on sharing positive anecdotes about her grandfather. "To me, he's just a normal grandpa," she said. "He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren't looking. He always wants to know how we're doing in school."
Kai also highlighted her grandfather's pride in her academic achievements. "When I made the high honor roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me," she added. The young Trump, who recently won the ladies club championship at Trump's golf course in Palm Beach, spoke about their shared love for golf. "He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me all about his," she shared. "But then I have to remind him that I'm in school and I'll have to call him back later."
Cameras at the convention captured a proud Donald Trump smiling and listening intently as his granddaughter spoke on stage, providing a moment of family unity amidst the political event.
Donald Trump Jr.'s protective instincts were evident in his comments on Fox News. While his blunt warning to Kai's admirers was clear, the additional controversy from his TikTok video highlights the challenges of public scrutiny that come with being part of the Trump family.
As the public reaction continues to unfold, the Trumps remain a focal point of both political and personal interest. Kai's RNC appearance not only marked her debut on the political stage but also brought attention to the complexities of navigating family dynamics under the public eye.
Moving forward, it will be important to see how Donald Trump Jr. and his family address the attention and continue to manage their public personas, particularly as the 2024 election season heats up.
