Before becoming half of one of the world’s most famous power couples with David Beckham, Victoria Beckham had a different love story. As revealed in a recent report by the Daily Mail, Victoria was once engaged to a local electrician named Mark Wood, a significant chapter in her life before her rise to fame with the Spice Girls.

In a surprising revelation timed with Victoria and David Beckham’s 25th wedding anniversary, it was disclosed that Victoria's first serious relationship began long before she became a global icon. Victoria and Mark Wood met when she was just 14 years old at St. Mary's High School in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. Their relationship blossomed, and they eventually moved in together at her family's home in Goff’s Oak, Hertfordshire.

Victoria, then known as Victoria Adams, was deeply involved in her relationship with Mark, who worked for her father's electronic supply business. Their relationship seemed destined for permanence when Mark proposed to Victoria in 1994, shortly after she auditioned for the soon-to-be world-famous girl group, the Spice Girls.

Despite their engagement, Victoria and Mark never made it to the altar. Their relationship ended in 1996, just two years after the proposal and after six years of dating. Even during the early days of her burgeoning career with the Spice Girls, Victoria often referred to herself as Victoria Adams Wood, acknowledging her past relationship.

Reflecting on her early engagement in a 2002 interview, Victoria mentioned, “For some reason, we got engaged. He was an alarm engineer. If only he'd stayed in the cupboard that I met him in at my mum's house.” This comment did not sit well with Mark Wood, who later expressed his displeasure in a 2004 Channel 5 documentary titled "Victoria Beckham's Secrets." In the documentary, Mark criticized Victoria, saying, “She went like an express train” and accused her of changing significantly after their breakup.

“At the time, Mark claimed Victoria 'went like an express train' and that she had different b----,” Channel 5's spokesperson noted. “As they always say, revenge is a dish best served cold. Mark has never spoken before in public about his relationship with Victoria but feels it is time to set the record straight. Mark was quite hurt by what she said and doesn’t intend to spare Victoria’s blushes.”

Victoria eventually found love again with David Beckham. The couple started dating in 1997 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 1999. Over the years, they have become one of the most celebrated couples in the entertainment and sports worlds, often sharing glimpses of their enduring love and family life.

Recently, Victoria and David celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They took to Instagram to commemorate the occasion, sharing nostalgic photos from their wedding and various moments from their years together. The posts featured their iconic matching purple outfits, a nod to their fashion-forward and sometimes whimsical style.

David Beckham, reflecting on their relationship during an appearance on the “SmartLess” podcast, spoke fondly of their journey together. “Of course, when you're with someone for that amount of time, you have your ups and downs, everybody knows that, and at the end of the day, we were lucky because we had each other at those moments,” he said, emphasizing the strength and resilience of their partnership.
