Meghan Markle Doesn’t Want To Be Associated With Former BFF Amid ‘Tone-Deaf,’ ‘Heartbreaking’ Actions?
Meghan Markle doesn’t allegedly want to be associated with her former best friend, Jessica Mulroney amid the latter’s heartbreaking and tone-deaf actions.
According to Daily Mail, Meghan Markle is mortified with Mulroney’s recent threats to sue a black influencer. Since Markle is African-American, she has allegedly decided to cut ties with her former BFF.
A source told the publication that Markle isn’t racist, and she doesn’t think that Mulroney is racist. However, the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t agree with how Mulroney handled the situation with the fashion influencer.
A few days ago, Mulroney and black influencer Sasha Exeter got into a heated argument on social media. Shortly after, Mulroney was firmed from ABC’s Good Morning America. Her reality TV show was also canceled.
The source claimed that Markle knows that her friends are a reflection of who she is so she decided to cut ties with Mulroney. Markle allegedly needs to do whatever it takes to preserve her dignity and reputation.
According to the insider, Markle can’t publicly defend Mulroney or help salvage the latter’s career. The source said that Markle waited so long to make a statement because she wanted to say the right thing. And she also encouraged Mulroney to do the same.
Following the tragic death of George Floyd, Markle told the graduates from her former high school that she wanted to say the right things to them. Prince Harry’s wife also said that she’s nervous about saying the wrong things and getting picked apart by the public.
And Mulroney also seemingly referenced Markle’s statement when she issued an apology to Exeter. Mulroney didn’t mention Markle’s name but she said that one of her close friends has taught her a lot about racial inequality.
In her statement, Mulroney also said that she had no plans to pursue any legal action against the network that fired her or against Exeter.
But Exeter previously said that Mulroney threatened her with a lawsuit after the latter revealed their heated exchanges on social media. Exeter also accused Mulroney of responding harshly to her generic call to action that she issued on her Instagram account weeks ago.
At that time, Exeter asked white influencers to use their platforms to advance the Black Lives Matter movement. After reading Exeter’s post, Mulroney and Exeter started arguing on social media.
Mulroney also threatened to call the companies that Exeter worked with before the latter went public.
