HBO Max's rom-com Love Life that featured Anna Kendrick is all set to get renewed for its second season. The show proved to be a hit for the channel as soon as it was out and the popular video-on-demand streaming service doesn't seem to waste any time as they already acquired more of the show.

The second season of the Love Life show got renewed as soon as the season one's finale episode was released. Given that, the show won't give you the same kind of content because Kendrick won't be featured in a lead role.

With the second season tuning in, Love Life is all set to prove the true anthology as it will move on from Anna Kendrick's Darby that was playing the lead character. The fresh season is going to be the focus on a new character's journey and it will be set in New York City.

This fresh character's journey will allow you to explore the aftermath of staying with the so-called soulmate and after a few years of marriage, realizing that the "soulmate" wasn't really a great fit for the character.

The fans can cherish the new character and shouldn't be thinking of some side character to take over the lead role as the makers have described the lead to be a "new character". So, it should not be necessary to count on side players to get into the spotlight from season one.

However, in the new episodes, fans can expect the characters to get introduced in season one, and occasionally Darby will make an appearance on the show. Probably, this will allow Kendrick to take a break that had missed by letting someone else get under the spotlight.

In the new season, hopefully, the story will keep a check on her without undoing the climax given in the first season or pulling the entire focus back to the old lead from the new one.

There are reasons in the plot that makes sense as to why focusing on one person's life in Love Life is not a good idea. The story of Darby has already been set for a conclusion in the first season which doesn't need to be undone for next season.

Considering overview of the show, the new season isn't really a surprise as the viewers love the show and it had already become top performers on HBO Max compared to all other streamer's content. Although since the show was launched on May 27, HBO Max had smooth sailing and garnered good reviews and ratings from season one.
