Kelly Ripa's Comical Confession: Breaking the 'No Staring' Rule at a Nude Beach
In a recent episode of "Live with Kelly and Mark," co-host and renowned television personality Kelly Ripa humorously confessed to breaking the cardinal rule of a nude beach: no staring. The incident occurred during a past trip to Corsica, France, which Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, took "many, many years ago."
Ripa attributed her faux pas to her poor eyesight. While kayaking, she noticed a man who appeared to be wearing what she described as "the weirdest bathing suit" she had ever seen. As she squinted to get a better look, she realized that the man was not wearing a bathing suit at all, but was fully nude.
"I famously have bad eyesight. No secret to anyone here. So I’m like, ‘What kind of a print is that?’ I’m like, ‘It’s weird. It’s kind of like a bird’s nest print,'" Ripa recounted, mimicking her squinting at the time.
Consuelos chimed in, noting that the man was clearly uncomfortable with Ripa's scrutiny and promptly left the area. "He left because the creepy lady in the kayak was getting a little too close," Ripa quipped.
The couple's recollection of their Corsican adventure comes after a June episode of "Live!" where they shared another encounter with a nude beach. During a hike with one of their children, they accidentally stumbled upon a beach where nudity was the norm. Ripa clarified, "I don’t mean a topless beach. I mean all nude, total nudity."
Despite the unexpected nature of their discovery, Ripa and Consuelos found humor in the situation. Ripa even joked about recognizing some of the beachgoers, saying, "I’m like, ‘I’m not turning around,'" when Consuelos thought he spotted someone familiar.
Ripa concluded her story with a playful admission: “That’s why I’m there. Not only am I staring, I am judging.” This candid confession, delivered with Ripa's signature wit, adds another entertaining chapter to the couple's shared adventures.
