The relationship between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, both 41, has been a subject of speculation since Markle's marriage to Prince Harry in 2018. An incident that allegedly led to Markle bursting into tears before her wedding at St. George’s Chapel has been a point of contention. Five years later, Markle reportedly believes that Middleton and her husband, Prince William, have not taken responsibility for their actions.

According to an unnamed source cited by The Mirror, Markle feels that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have not been held accountable for their treatment of her during her time as a royal. The source stated, “Meghan feels they’ve never been held accountable for the way they treated her when she was part of the royals, have never apologized and have seemingly got away with it.”

Markle, known for her role in the TV series “Suits,” is also said to be surprised at the lack of criticism the Prince and Princess of Wales have faced. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal about their experiences with the royal family through various projects, including Harry’s memoir “Spare” and their Netflix documentary series.

Another insider claimed that Markle was “convinced” the public would support her in the feud with the royal family. However, the source added, “that hasn’t happened,” and Markle believes that Middleton had an advantage over her.

The controversy surrounding the 2018 wedding reportedly began when Middleton expressed concerns about her daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, leading to a tearful exchange between the two women. Initially, it was reported that Markle had made Middleton cry, but Markle refuted this claim in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, stating that it was Middleton who had upset her.

Markle told Winfrey, “A few days before the wedding she was upset about something pertaining to — the issue was correct, about the flower girl dresses and it made me cry and it really hurt my feelings.” She added that Middleton had later apologized, brought her flowers, and written her a note. “I’ve forgiven her,” Markle said of the incident.

In his memoir, Prince Harry also mentioned the wedding incident, stating that he found Markle crying on the floor after Middleton had suggested remaking all of the bridesmaid dresses just days before the wedding. The latest accusations have not been commented on by representatives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
