Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of the legendary Elvis Presley, tragically lost her life due to a weight-loss surgery complication, a recent autopsy report revealed. The 54-year-old singer passed away on January 12 from a small bowel obstruction resulting from scar tissue formed post a bariatric procedure, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Lisa Marie, who had struggled with addiction, had the surgery in 2019 when her weight peaked at an alarming 257 pounds. A confidante told The National ENQUIRER, "It was Lisa Marie’s own self-care after her surgery that killed her," hinting that the fatal complication was not a standard occurrence with such procedures.

Sources reveal that the upcoming 2022 biopic about her late father, Elvis, which would place her back in the limelight, intensified Lisa Marie's desperation to shed pounds and maintain her public image. An insider confessed, "She'd ballooned to an embarrassing weight before her surgery — and yo-yoed in weight even after it," adding that she resorted to drug use in her final days to attain the desired thinness, a pressure her body couldn't withstand.

Dr. Gabe Mirkin, a longevity expert who has meticulously examined Lisa Marie's medical records, although never her treating physician, commented exclusively to The ENQUIRER. He stated that Lisa Marie's drug usage had a direct correlation with her bowel issue that ultimately induced her cardiac arrest. Toxicology reports found the existence of oxycodone, a prescribed painkiller, quetiapine, an antipsychotic, and buprenorphine, a drug used for opioid use disorder, in her system at the time of her death.

"Lisa Marie took all these drugs, she smoked, she was yo-yo dieting — all of these things contributed greatly to what finally killed her," Mirkin explained. The autopsy report highlighted Lisa Marie's history of 'overmedicating,' 'alcohol abuse,' and 'illicit drug use.' Although she had been supposedly sober since 2015, the coroner's report disclosed her smoking approximately a pack of cigarettes a day.

A close friend heartbreakingly revealed, "Lisa Marie had complained of belly pain for months leading up to her death, but she coped with it through her medication." Despite her struggles, Lisa Marie was ready to reclaim her position as a singer and the steward of the Presley estate, but her desire to maintain an image of perfection led her on a tragic path. "She was killing herself all along the way and didn’t even know it," the friend concluded.
