House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has suggested that the ongoing investigations into the Biden family's overseas business dealings are reaching a point that could warrant an impeachment inquiry. The Republican-led House committee has been probing these dealings, and McCarthy's comments come in the wake of revelations about President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, and his interactions with foreign business associates.

In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, McCarthy stated, "When Biden was running for office, he told the public he has never talked about business. He said his family has never received a dollar from China, which we prove is not true." He further added, "We've only followed where the information has taken us. But Hannity, this is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed."

The House Speaker's comments were in response to recent reports that Hunter Biden frequently put his father on the phone with foreign business associates. This information is expected to be presented in an upcoming hearing of the House Oversight Committee by Devon Archer, a close partner of Hunter Biden.

In addition to this, McCarthy also cited allegations by two IRS whistleblowers that the Justice Department interfered in a five-year investigation into Hunter’s potential tax crimes. He also mentioned findings from Republican investigations that revealed how members of the Biden family and their business associates used shell companies to rake in millions of dollars from foreign entities.

The White House has dismissed these allegations, accusing House Republicans of using the Biden probes to distract from major issues Americans are facing. "Instead of focusing on the real issues Americans want us to address like continuing to lower inflation or create jobs, this is what the @HouseGOP wants to prioritize," White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations Ian Sams tweeted in response to McCarthy’s remarks.

Despite the mounting allegations, the White House maintains that President Biden never discussed overseas business dealings with his son. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated, "The president was never in business with his son. I just don’t have anything else to add."

McCarthy, however, remains skeptical and has questioned the legitimacy of the Biden family's business dealings with countries that have ongoing problems. "I believe we will follow this all the way to the end," he told Hannity. "And this is going to rise to an impeachment inquiry the way the Constitution tells us to do this, and we have to get the answers to these questions."

While the evidence continues to pile up, a source close to McCarthy told The Post, "Kevin will never go all in on a [former House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi-style sham impeachment. But the evidence is piling up, and he’s getting more bullish on a Biden impeachment." The unfolding situation suggests that the Biden family's overseas business dealings could become a significant political issue in the near future.
