In a heartfelt Instagram video, Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor, has opened up about his recent health scare and the road to recovery. Foxx, known for his roles in films like "Ray," was hospitalized in April due to an undisclosed medical complication. The actor's eldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, confirmed his health scare at the time, noting that he was "already on his way to recovery."

In the video, Foxx did not reveal the nature of the complication but addressed the severity of his condition when he was in the hospital. "I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through," Foxx said, thanking fans for their prayers and messages. He explained that he didn't want fans to see him in a vulnerable state, with tubes running out of him, trying to figure out if he would make it through.

Foxx debunked online rumors that the medical emergency had left him paralyzed or blind. "But I did go to hell and back," he added. "My road to recovery had some potholes as well but I’m coming back, and I’m able to work."

The actor expressed his gratitude towards his family, particularly his sister, Deidra Dixon, and his daughter Corinne, for keeping his medical struggles and recovery private. "They didn’t let nothing out. They protected me," he said. Foxx also shares a 14-year-old daughter, Annalise, with ex Kristin Grannis.

Foxx's emotional video message ended with a heartfelt note to his supporters. "I love everybody and I love all of the love that I got," he tearfully said. "If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s just because it’s been tough, man. I was sick, man. But now I got my legs under me, so you’re gonna see me out. I want you to remember me for the jokes that I crack, the movies that I make — some of them good — and songs that I sing."

The actor was released from the hospital in May and has been on the mend since then. A source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month that Jamie has a "huge support system around him" to make sure "he doesn’t take on too much" too soon.

Several of the Oscar winner’s celebrity pals, including Dwayne Johnson, Justin Timberlake, Will Smith, and LL Cool J, took to his Instagram comments on Saturday to share their support for his continued recovery. Corinne, for her part, added: “I love you Dad .”
