Royal Commentator Labels Prince Harry as 'Angry,' Citing Inauthenticity in His Memoir 'Spare'
A recent panel discussion on Sky News Australia's "The Royal Report" ignited fresh commentary about Prince Harry, as royal experts characterized him as a "raging" individual with a lack of self-awareness.
The chat featured the insights of GT Communications founder Gemma Tognini and News.com.au entertainment reporter Bronte Coy, led by host Caroline Di Russo. The group dissected Prince Harry's recent bestselling memoir "Spare" and contemplated the rumors surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's speculated plan to cash in by selling the memoir's rights.
In his memoir, the 38-year-old prince offered an intimate exploration of his journey, from his royal upbringing to his and Meghan Markle's exit from the monarchy and relocation to the U.S. Prince Harry detailed his personal struggle following his mother, Princess Diana's death.
Tognini, who has amassed 30 years of experience in strategic communications and reputation management, expressed some empathy for Prince Harry, labelling him a "broken man-child". However, she criticized his continuous tirade, saying, "He's just an angry little turd throwing potshots at everyone." She questioned when he would find closure and address his inner struggles.
The host, Di Russo, proposed that the public's disbelief in Prince Harry's transition from a "Brit in royal exile" to a "real househusband of Montecito" could be attributed to his perceived lack of authenticity.
Supporting this view, Tognini highlighted the difficulties Prince Harry faces living in the epicenter of the entertainment industry - Los Angeles. She said, "The problem with authenticity is you've got to know who you are to be authentic... He doesn't know who he is. How do you communicate genuine and authenticity to your brand... when you fundamentally don't know it yourself?"
Coy also expressed her perspective on Prince Harry's memoir, agreeing that he seemed to lack self-understanding. "That is exactly what my takeaway from the book was," Coy stated, "You do feel so sorry for him... He doesn't know who he is."
The comments follow a recent appearance by British journalist and author Petronella Wyatt on GB News' "Mark Dolan Tonight," where she likened Prince Harry to an "actor," stating, "He's trying so hard to look happy... It's a bit exaggerated."
