Kathy Griffin Kept In Isolation Ward, Claims Could Not Secure Coronavirus Test
While Kathy Griffin was scared of contracting coronavirus initially, she was instead diagnosed with an abdominal infection.
The actress and comedian also shared the sensational news about how the healthcare workers did not have the required personal protective equipment at the hospital where she was admitted, Mail Online reports. The 59-year-old celebrity seems to be recuperating steadily at her home though she might not be feeling good emotionally.
Griffin wrote that she is at isolation in her home. She was thankful to all the staff at the Emergency Room. However, she also wished that they would not have to each other’s faces again.
What concerned many people were a section of her tweet that all hospital workers did not have proper protective gear while they were checking out her symptoms. The actress also quoted the tweet of David Slack, a TV writer who had given a link to raise funds for purchasing masks, as well as, other PPE gear for the health workers of Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai hospital.
In the United States, many hospitals have reported the inadequacy of protective gears as they have been flooded with cases of COVID-19. Some healthcare professionals have even revealed wearing the same mask repeatedly for several days.
Earlier this week, the comedian was released from the hospital after she spent some time in an isolation ward designated for coronavirus patents. Kathy Griffin shared this week of her fight against “unbearably painful symptoms” related to the respiratory illness coronavirus.
Thereafter, she was admitted to an isolation ward but could not be tested for the virus. On Friday, the actress mentioned to the Los Angeles Times that she was at her home after being detected with an abdominal disease for which she was undergoing treatment.
While being interviewed by the publication house, she revealed her experience at the ER where she was kept after feeling unwell. She was ill after she returned from Mexico to the United States with Randy Bick, her husband.
Griffin had mentioned that they were shaky because they were in the isolation period after coming back from Mexico. Also, they confined themselves to their house for several days. They were aware of an incubation period of 14 days. So, when the actress suffered from food poisoning, she thought about whether it was a coincidence or not.
Actress and comedian Kathy Griffin was full of praises for all those “heroes” who took care of her at the Emergency Room. However, she did add that the facility is yet to be set up properly the way she had visualized. She also lamented for the unavailability of coronavirus tests.
