Tom Cruise: No Stunt Too Risky, But Violence Against Female Co-Stars is a No-Go
Actor Tom Cruise, known for his death-defying stunts, says there's one thing he absolutely cannot do: enact violence against his female co-stars.
In the upcoming film "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1", set for release on July 12, Tom Cruise takes some hair-raising risks, such as riding a motorcycle off a cliff or throwing himself from a helicopter with a parachute.
In particular, it is rumored that he steeled himself for the possibility of death while filming the cliff-jumping motorcycle stunt.
Yet there's one act that even the dauntless Tom Cruise can't perform. That is, a scene where he would have to kick a female co-star in the abdomen.
Tom Celementiev, a fellow actor who works opposite Tom Cruise, revealed some behind-the-scenes information in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the 22nd (local time).
In the movie, Celementiev plays a mysterious assassin named Paris, becoming the most dangerous rival to Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise).
During the interview, Celementiev shared an anecdote about a scene in which he begged Cruise to kick him in the stomach during a fight scene, but Cruise categorically refused. Celementiev stated, "I kept telling him just to kick me here. I've got my abs clenched, so it's okay to give it a try, but Tom Cruise kept saying, 'No, no, no'."
Meanwhile, the movie 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning PART ONE' is an action blockbuster that depicts the exploits of Ethan Hunt, who finds himself having to choose between the lives of those he cares about and an important mission.
The film is set to be released in local theaters on July 12.
