A royal expert suggests Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is shifting away from her royal ties towards a more independent career, leveraging her partnership with the William Morris Endeavor (WME) agency. The expert, however, implies that Meghan may not be as valuable to her prospective partners as she might hope.

In a recent episode of "GB News," Lady Colin Campbell, a British socialite and royal commentator, joined host Dan Wootton and royal biographer Phil Dampier. The conversation turned to Markle's rumored multi-million dollar deal with Dior amidst Prince Harry's legal battle. Wootton asked if this signaled Meghan's move to carve out a career separate from her husband's royal persona.

"I was informed that she joined WME to distance herself from her royal identity and was advised to trailblaze a fresh path," said Campbell. She then cautioned, "However, we need to discern between fact and fiction. From what I heard from well-placed contacts in Paris's fashion industry, this might not be a lucrative deal."

The royal expert continued, "Meghan isn't going to earn a lot from this deal, if it does materialize, because she's perceived as damaged goods. They can get her at a steal. Dior is much more crucial to Meghan's brand than vice versa."

Meghan's partnership with WME was confirmed in an Instagram post by the agency in April. The post read, "We're privileged to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in all areas. The agency will concentrate on expanding her business ventures across numerous sectors of the agency and its wider ecosystem, including film and TV production, brand partnerships, and more."

Wootton also queried Campbell about her views on sportscaster Bill Simmons' labeling the Sussexes as "f---ing grifters". He asked if such a description would linger, as he felt it was quite fitting.

Campbell responded, "It's likely to stick because there's a whiff of truth to it. Harry has mastered the art of exploiting the British system, successfully evading our tax structure due to means-testing and residency requirements. If he were subject to British income, he'd owe an extra £450-500. Harry and Meghan are adept manipulators. I won't contest the 'grifters' label."

The authenticity of these claims hasn't been verified independently by Business Times.

Claims about Markle's alleged deal with Dior have been denied by her representative, who dismissed the rumors to The Telegraph. A source from the French fashion house also expressed bewilderment over the origin of the story.
