Colombian songstress Shakira seems to have found new love in Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, according to insiders. Despite the singer's recent encounter with Tom Cruise, it's Hamilton who's allegedly captured her heart.

The 46-year-old "Hips Don't Lie" vocalist stoked the flames of the dating rumors by being spotted with the 38-year-old racer during an after-race cocktail outing. The pair were seen together after the June 4th Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

The pair enjoyed a convivial dinner along with fellow singer Mustafa. Hamilton was seen drawing Shakira close with his arm around her, a display that did nothing to quell the relationship speculations.

As GLOBE reported, Cruise showed interest in Shakira during the Miami Grand Prix on May 7. However, insiders suggest that Shakira's attention was already riveted on Hamilton, who finished eighth in the race.

Shakira, who separated from her partner and father of her children, footballer Gerard Piqué, last June, was also seen in close proximity to Hamilton on a yacht near her Miami residence in early May. Interestingly, Hamilton was previously seen in friendly company with former First Lady Michelle Obama after a Miami race in May 2022, which supposedly sparked President Barack Obama's ire.

#Hamilton's Alleged Romance with Shakira Accused of Impacting His Racing Focus

Despite the romantic sparks, retired racer Mika Hakkinen has voiced concerns that Shakira could be a "distraction" for Hamilton. He suggests that Hamilton's full focus may no longer be on racing.

Speculations about the romance between Shakira and Hamilton have circulated since they were seen together multiple times following Shakira's split from Piqué. While the duo has yet to confirm their relationship, Hakkinen believes that Hamilton's attention has shifted to more "important" aspects of his life than his career.

During an interview with online gambling company Unibet, Hakkinen discussed the possibility of Hamilton joining Ferrari. He said, "Lewis' head is not 100 percent in racing anymore. It's completely normal. Money does motivate, but it comes with risks. I think him joining Ferrari is highly unlikely."

He added, "As people age, their priorities change. Formula 1 just might not be the most crucial thing for him anymore," subtly referring to Hamilton's alleged relationship with Shakira.

In the meantime, a source close to the situation confirmed to People Magazine that Shakira and Hamilton are in the early stages of a relationship.

"They're in the phase of getting to know each other," the source disclosed about the rumored couple. "It's a fun and flirty period for them."
