"Extraction 2," headlined by Chris Hemsworth, has launched, setting Twitter alight with rave reviews.

The long-anticipated sequel to Netflix's 2020 blockbuster "Extraction" graced the streaming platform this Friday.

Under the directorial baton of Sam Hargrave and the creative pen of Joe Russo, the action-thriller has won a flurry of approving nods from viewers. Twitter has become a virtual billboard of glowing reviews and fervent recommendations for the film.

One Twitter user effused, "The second installment of 'Extraction' is just dynamite. It was a spectacle. Rating 4/5."

"Exhilarating. 'Extraction 2' is a perfect 10," claimed another.

One commentator praised, "The action scenes in 'Extraction 2' and the cinematography are next level."

A different user chimed in, "I just finished the film and it's phenomenal. Stellar performances all around."

One particularly enthusiastic viewer touted, "30/10. Chris didn't let us down, the Russo brothers weaved their magic once again. From the jailbreak scene to the train sequence, it was pure cinema with astounding stunts and camera work. 'Extraction 2' is a must-watch."

The thrilling sequel has fans eagerly anticipating the continuation of the "Extraction" franchise.

One commenter projected, "I'm braced for 'Extraction' 3-15. If 'Taken' and 'Fast and the Furious' can sustain franchises, 'Extraction' can, too. But this one I would genuinely relish."

The film, laced with spoiler alerts, marks the return of former Australian Special Forces operative, now a black-ops mercenary, Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), entrusted with another hazardous mission — liberating the abused family of a brutal Georgian mobster from jail. The beleaguered wife, Keteven (Tinatin Dalakishvili), shares a familial connection with Rake.

"Extraction 2" also showcases a sentimental reunion between Tyler and his estranged wife, Mia (Olga Kurylenko), and revisits the tragic death of their son, which seemingly triggered their marital rift.

In a chat with Tudum, Hargrave elaborated, "Our aim was to delve deeper into Tyler Rake's backstory, revealing his motivations. The first movie hints at a poignant event in his life, a family catastrophe. We owed the audience a clearer picture of his persona. So, we introduce fresh characters that cast a spotlight on his past, unearthing more about his origins and purpose."

Hargrave further applauded Hemsworth, crediting him for infusing his character Tyler with sincerity and contributing significantly to the narrative.

The sequel welcomes back Golshifteh Farahani and Adam Bessa, reprising their roles as siblings Nik Khan and Yaz Khan. Joining the cast of "Extraction 2" are Daniel Bernhardt and Idris Elba.
