Roberta Laundrie, the mother of the late Brian Laundrie, reportedly extended an unsettling promise to her son in a message intended to be destroyed after reading. She pledged to be at his side with "a shovel and garbage bags" if he ever had "to dispose of a body."

The 57-year-old mother's letter to her son included, "If you find yourself in jail, I'll bake a cake with a file inside," and chillingly, "If you need to dispose of a body, expect me with a shovel and garbage bags."

Shockingly, her son, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie, may have needed such assistance when he allegedly strangled his 22-year-old fiancée, Gabby Petito, during their 2021 road trip. He abandoned her body and, approximately a month later, died by suicide, as evidenced by a gunshot wound to his head.

Law enforcement officers found a handwritten confession near Brian's decomposed remains. His note read, "I ended her life. I deemed it a mercy, what she desired, but now I recognize my grave errors."

Roberta Laundrie has asserted that her eerie note to Brian was written before the ill-fated four-month cross-country journey the young couple embarked on, which ended in Gabby's mysterious disappearance in August.

Gabby Petito's tragic remains were discovered on September 19, 2021, in a Utah campsite.

Florida Judge Danielle Brewer has ruled that Roberta's disquieting letter can be presented as evidence in a civil lawsuit for emotional distress filed by Gabby's parents, Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt. The couple asserts that Brian's parents were aware of the murder and cruelly gave them false hope that Gabby might still be alive.

Roberta's disturbing letter to Brian continued, "Just remember, my love for you is unwavering, and I know your love for me is enduring. You are my son." She added, "Nothing will cause my love for you to wane. No matter our actions, our location, or our words, nothing will ever separate us."
