In an extended legal tussle with former partner Gabriel Aubry, Hollywood actress Halle Berry has recently claimed a significant victory, as a court ruling drastically reduced her annual child support payments for their teenage daughter, Nahla. The remarkable decision slashed Berry's yearly financial obligation by a whopping $750,000.

Renowned for her role in "John Wick 3," the 56-year-old has been engaged in a drawn-out conflict with Aubry, a 46-year-old model hailing from Canada. The feud, spanning over a decade, revolved around what Berry labelled as “extortion” to sustain Nahla's lifestyle when she resided with her father.

In 2021, Berry's monthly child support contribution was revised to $8,000, with an additional charge of 4.3 percent of any income she earned over $1.95 million. Given that the "Moonfall" star, who last appeared in the 2022 sci-fi blockbuster, reportedly earns an estimated $10 million per film, the extra cost could potentially amount to at least $340,000 on top of the $92,000 base yearly support.

However, Berry's recent triumph in court has set a maximum limit for additional payments at $109,650.

Berry and Aubry first crossed paths at a Versace photo shoot in 2005. However, their relationship fell apart two years after Nahla was born in 2008, mirroring Berry's failed marriages to actor Olivier Martinez, singer Eric Benét, and former baseball player David Justice.

In 2014, a Los Angeles court mandated Berry to pay a lump sum of $110,000, along with monthly installments of $16,000, totaling $192,000 annually, to Aubry, inciting widespread controversy.

Berry's latest courtroom win will reportedly save her an estimated $750,000 per year. The revised agreement between the former couple states, “The parties agree that additional child support over and above $109,650 per year would exceed Nahla’s reasonable needs.”

John Wick Director Envisions Halle Berry's Sofia in a Potential Spin-Off

Since the conclusion of "John Wick: Chapter 4", the franchise's future seemed uncertain - until recent developments stirred the pot. The current trend of spin-offs has not bypassed the John Wick universe, with prequel series "The Continental" and forthcoming movie "Ballerina" being primary examples of the franchise's expansion. However, there's always room for more within this action-packed universe.

In a recent revelation, the director behind the franchise, Chad Stahelski, has indicated that there are plans in the pipeline for a potential project that would see Halle Berry reprising her role as Sofia, a character she debuted in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum." Stahelski made the revelation while conversing with the host on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Stahelski said, "Yeah. We have actually been in talks several times to try to... I hate the term spinoff," he said. "But they are trying to do other satellite projects off the Wick franchise. Hopefully they'll be good ones." His comments have triggered speculation about Berry's character taking the spotlight in a standalone project, adding a new layer to the expanding Wick universe.

Adding more thrill to the mix, it has been confirmed that Keanu Reeves, the star of the franchise, will be returning to his iconic role in "Ballerina". He will be joined by Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick, while Ana de Armas is set to take the lead role in the movie, which will be directed by Len Wiseman.

Stahelski's comment has indeed added more fuel to the fire of speculation about the John Wick universe's expansion. While details are scarce, fans of the franchise can look forward to further exploration of these much-loved characters and potentially, a deeper dive into Sofia's story.
