Taylor Swift Struggles to Cut Emotional Ties with Ex Joe Alwyn, Insider Reveals
Pop music sensation Taylor Swift might be in a budding relationship with Matty Healy, but the specter of former beau Joe Alwyn continues to loom large, as revealed by insiders.
As per sources close to The National ENQUIRER, Swift, 33, is yet to fully recover from the emotional setback she suffered following her split with 32-year-old British actor Alwyn. Evidently, she can't resist staying updated on his life, a tendency that her friends find puzzling, given her seemingly swift rebound.
"Even though she's in a new relationship, she can't help but miss Joe," the source shares. "Despite her public expressions of joy with her new beau, she keeps inquiring about Joe through mutual friends and stays updated on his activities and companions. However, everyone agrees that this isn't a healthy habit."
While one insider maintains that Swift isn't hung up on Alwyn, another source highlights her fluctuating mood, "One moment, she's in high spirits, the next she's curious about Joe." Swift was seen hand-in-hand with British musician Healy, 34, in New York City, just a month after publicly announcing her split from Alwyn.
"Matty is delightful and entertaining, but he isn't Joe," the insider spills. "This relationship is more of a convenience for her, and her affection for Matty isn't as profound as she portrays it to be. "Her friends are apprehensive that she's exploiting Matty to evoke jealousy in Joe. They had a six-year relationship, and she didn't expect Joe to move on so quickly, which is a dent to her pride."
Swift and Alwyn's love story started in 2016, with rumors of an impending engagement floating around. However, personality clashes caused the relationship to sour, leading to their separation a few months ago. "There are still matters to be settled, belongings to be split. At some point, Taylor and Joe will have to meet, and that's the impending awkward situation everyone is aware of," adds the source.
