Ken Rosato, Veteran Anchor at WABC 7, Dismissed Following Controversial Hot Mic Incident
Ken Rosato, a longtime morning show anchor for New York's WABC 7, has been abruptly terminated following an alleged inappropriate comment caught on an open microphone, according to a source within the network. This comes amid recent upheaval at ABC News, including the departure of "GMA3" co-anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.
While the specific nature of Rosato's comment remains undisclosed, insiders confirmed that his off-air utterance was deemed offensive, leading to his immediate dismissal. The network has refrained from sharing the details of the incident, even with Rosato's co-anchors, who were informed of the dismissal individually.

Despite speculation that Rosato's remark might have involved racial content, a representative for Rosato vehemently denied this, asserting, "Being fired for any racial slur is 100 percent inaccurate and untrue. Ken Rosato had a benchmark of 20 years at WABC of supporting all equality.”
The network confirmed Rosato's departure on Friday in an email from the station's general manager to the staff, acknowledging Rosato's service, but providing no further details. "We thank him for his years of service,” the email read.
Rosato began his career with "Eyewitness News" in 2003 as a freelance reporter and climbed the ranks to become the morning and noon anchor in 2007. He co-anchored "This Morning" alongside Shirleen Allicot, Heather O’Rourke, and Sam Champion.
As of now, ABC News representatives have not made any public comment regarding the incident. Notably, Rosato's professional profile has been removed from the network's website, and his daily tweets from the anchor desk came to a halt on May 2, adding to the signs of his departure.
