Ted Cruz Blames Biden for 'Impending Tragedy' at Southern Border
In a direct confrontation to President Joe Biden, Texas Senator Ted Cruz issued a stern warning regarding the escalating immigration crisis at the southern border. The Republican Senator declared Biden responsible for an imminent "massive invasion," predicting it will result in "tragedy," "suffering," and death.
From the border in Brownsville, Texas, Cruz expressed his concerns in a series of videos. He pointed out that over 22,000 illegal immigrants were waiting across the Rio Grande, anticipating the expiration of Title 42. This pandemic-era policy, which ended at midnight, allowed for the expulsion of certain migrants. "They’re waiting for Title 42 to expire, and then the invasion we’re going to see is going to be massive," Cruz warned.
The senator lamented that the situation was about to worsen further, even as the country grapples with the worst illegal immigration in its history. Pointing a finger at the camera, Cruz placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Biden administration. He held them accountable for the fatalities and abuses incurred during illegal crossings.
"The people who are killed crossing illegally: That’s your fault. The women who are sexually abused crossing illegally: That’s your fault. The children who are brutalized crossing illegally: That’s your fault," he admonished.
Cruz urged President Biden to visit the southern border and witness the crisis firsthand. He accused the president of neglecting the issue and turning a blind eye to the ensuing misery.
“This is not humane, this is not compassionate. This is cruel,” Cruz stated, adding that the unfolding situation was the result of deliberate political decisions made by Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and congressional Democrats.
In the second part of his recorded warning, Cruz highlighted the tragic aftermath of the border crisis. He showed discarded clothing and other personal effects, including a young girl's sandal, as evidence of the human toll.
He also pointed to the Mexican side of the Rio Grande crossing, drawing attention to the music and festivities there. "There’s a party south of the border — they’re celebrating because … the 22,000 people who are south of the border will cross and come into America," he predicted.
