Tom Brady Denies Rumors of Quitting FOX Sports Role, Calls It "Fake News"
Tom Brady has debunked recent reports that he is considering backing out of his FOX Sports gig, asserting that he is fully committed to being a color commentator for NFL games in 2024. The former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback responded to a Sports Illustrated Instagram post on Thursday, putting the rumors to rest.
The post referred to a New York Post article that claimed the 45-year-old was contemplating walking away from his $375 million contract with FOX to pursue other ventures post-retirement. However, Brady dismissed the story with a succinct comment: "FakeNews."
Sources close to TMZ Sports confirm that Brady is not merely dismissing the rumors; he has already begun preparing for his role as a color commentator, even though the gig is still about 16 months away.
Brady, a future Hall of Famer, signed the 10-year deal with FOX in May 2022. In February, he announced that he would begin the job in the fall of 2024 to dedicate time and energy to "other parts of my life that need some time and energy" in 2023.
According to Brady, his plans have not changed in the last three months, and he remains committed to his role with FOX Sports.
